Healing Ministry
Christian healing churches Leesburg VA have been there since the Bible was penned. Its history is long and rich, but one thing has remained unchanged throughout the centuries: healing is at the heart of Christianity.
What is a healing ministry?
Today’s Christian healing ministry is “The anointing” and “the prayer of faith .”The anointing is available to anyone who will receive its power. The prayer of faith is the means to request and receive that anointing.
A healing ministry requires honesty of heart and willingness to serve. In addition, the ministry requires patience, love, understanding, and the ability to be a good listener. Christian healing ministry encompasses all areas of need – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual – through prayer and the anointing of God’s Holy Spirit.
Jesus’ life and ministry centered on healing. He healed lepers, deaf people, blind people, and possessed demoniacs; He even restored life to the dead. Jesus’ followers continue to heal today.
The apostle Paul’s writings present a consistent message about the power of God through healing: “That if you call on the name of the Lord you will be healed.” (Romans 10:13)
In Scripture, healing is both physical and mental. It encompasses the whole body, mind, and spirit. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18)
Jesus came to release us from bondage, captivity, and sickness.
The early Church healed and continued to heal throughout its growth. After the death and resurrection of Christ, the Church still provided healing. This truth is revealed in scriptures, such as James 5:14-15 and Acts 19:11-12. “Is anyone among you sick? He should call the elders of the Church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.”
